Laughing My Head Off HARD at KLIC Fest' 2015

If you enjoy Stand-up Comedy as much as I do, then you will love the Kuala Lumpur International Comedy Festival (KLIC Fest) 2015. Curated by Harith Iskander, Godfather of Malaysian Stand-Up Comedian, KLIC Fest 2015 housed the BIGGEST International Comedy Festival in the region with over 60 of the World's Funniest Comedians from 14 Different Countries.

KLIC Fest 2015 is held from the September 16th to 23rd 2015.

I am very proud to say my last weekend was very well spent one.
It is all thanks to Tammy Lim for highlighting to me about this event and Christopher Tock in getting me the media passes to watch all three comedies held at Manhattan Ballroom Berjaya Times Square Hotel last September 20th.

You will laugh if you knew that I did some research on comedians prior to the event. As much as I enjoy watching Stand-up Comedies, I am only familiar to selected comedians such as Douglas Lim, Jeff Dunham (can someone bring him back to KL next time, please?) and of course, Harith Iskander. So when everyone was saying Ong-als, the Korean Babbling Quartet is one not to be missed, I must see it for myself.

Jarred Fell stands out from the rest because of his style of mix Comedy and Magic. His strongest show has always been the game cards, but he threw in a coin guessing game just to keep things interesting.
I wouldn't say his show is safe for family but that made his show the way it is :)

Funny, Sexy, slightly 19 x Rated with a little plot twist :D

I love how Jarred engaged with his audience alot and the way he brings us on a roller coaster ride; as if he is a newbie in hocus pocus and NOTHING like that in the end.
If you are a magic and comedy fan, this is one show you should stay till the end.

I LOVE THE ONG-ALS!

Putting aside the fact that I am a HUGE Korean fan, THEY ARE REALLY FREAKING GOOD! Initially I hesitated on how they will turn out but I am glad that I was wrong. They have proven that language and cultural barriers does not stop people from all walks of life from enjoying comedy.
The Ong-als appear to be man-babies with individual personalities, dressed in baby jump suits and babble throughout their show.

By only using mimes and hilarious facial expressions, they got us all in stitches. They further blew us off our seats with amazing beatbox and juggling abilities. I have forgotten when was the last time I laughed so hard; my cheeks and jaws hurts until the next day!

They are also the most humble people I have ever met. Everyone was on their feet applauding away when the Ong-als "kow-towed" on the stage as a sign of thank you and respect. They even paid particular attention on Mr Boyfie during the photography session
(I know he is cute but the reason was the Korea flag's on his T-shirt) XD

I am so thankful to catch them on their last performance in KLIC Fest because it was really good show.

Last but not least, was the LAUGH MALAYSIA Gala Night.

This is the highlight of KLIC Fest's 2015 everyone has been anticipating. The crowd was so much larger compared to the previous shows and I have noticed a number of celebrities there such as Amber Chia and Adibah Noor.

With our Malaysian Harith Iskander as the spokes person, he introduced EIGHT comedians from worldwide, Gina Yashere, Paul Ogata, Tom Rhodes and many more.

One of my favourite comedians*

My biggest weakness in understanding international comedy would be the language barrier and lack of GK in world's issue. Anyhow, not all is lost. I could still join the crowd when the comedians touch on our local national news. Having this opportunity has given me a whole new insight on cultural exchange, which I find very interesting.

The last day of KLIC Fest' 2015 would be on tomorrow (23rd September 2015). The shows will be held at THE BEE, BLACK and WHITE BOX (Publika) and CRACKHOUSE in TTDI with price of RM70/ RM55/ RM38 depending on locations and seats.
Do not miss this last chance!
