Hair Salon Coloring Review in Cheras | Hairworx Studio

It's November again!
Are you guys planning for any trip or new look makeover because it's almost end of year 2017!

Recently I had a change of hairstyle because WHO does not want to look good at one of the Top 10 Most Beautiful Islands?! Yup, I will be heading to the Boracay island in another 1 week time and just can't help being excited, so be sure to check out my Instagram @juneci_wonderland for beautiful updates

It was my first experience with hair bleaching (mainly because I didn't dare to and have not found the right salon which can give me what I wanted) but then, why worry so much. I am those type who only drive out just to get to work, so getting to Cheras is a milestone achievement
*Thank God for keeping me alive in one piece*

One last selfie before the Big Thing *please forgive the unruly hair*
Really appreciate the mini getting-to-know-you assessment prior the hair treatment because it gives the hairstylist a clearer idea of what sort of hairstyle that would not get me into trouble when I return to office.  I told him that I didn't want the hair color to be too outstanding but with some hidden surprise (seriously what are you trying to say, girl? XD) My hair is rather thin and frizz up rather easily (yup, he finds out all of this by himself) so he suggested a purple tone that would not cost too much damage to my hair and it will only show when I flick my hair.
Absolutely Sexy

During the bleaching process, there are few things that I learnt:
1. The bleaching will still take about 2 hours even if it's only 1/20 out of the entire hair
2. Bleaching will be divided into few sections depending on your hair condition.
For me, I had 2 parts; starting with the lower end (that's where my last hair dye before the trip to Japan hair last autumn) followed by the top part (still virgin from any chemical handlings)
3. If you think that bottom end will have faster bleaching outcome (because they are less healthy compared to the top), then we are both wrong.
The more times you dye your hair at the same length, the longer it takes to completely remove all the hair pigments (brown and red tone being the toughest shades to remove)

Reminds me of Cruella de Vil XD
I was initially very afraid how dry will the bleaching turn my hair into and surprisingly it wasn't too bad. Yes, you will still be able to differentiate the texture of both bleached and unbleached hair but it is still soft to touch and not easily tangled which means it's not badly damaged. Thank goodness.

The following hair dyeing process is very fast (about another 30 minutes) with 2 hair washes in between to remove the bleaching and coloring agent. I opted for an additional hair treatment by MoltoBene to keep my locks healthier for a longer time, so that's an additional of RM200 including a hair cut and shampoo for chemically treated hair.

Before                                                  After

You can obviously see the difference after the chemical hair treatment and personally, it gives this chic feel to it that makes me feel like the Girl-Next-Door now XD

About the Now-You-See-Me-Now-You-Don't?
It is actually a very discreet color and I can't say enough on how much I loved it

The hair coloring agent used (Promaster EX Color to be exact) is from a top Japan manufacturer & hair professional color innovator brand; Hoyu. It is popularly known to produce PURE vibrant colors that is suitable for Asian's hair, less damaging compared to other brands, fast application, no bad odour and claims to be more long lasting compared to ordinary colors.

I agreed on most opoints except on the long lasting part as the purple shade will fade with every wash and after 3 weeks, its now closer to the shade of a HEATHER rather then the initial PURPLE color. I am expecting it to fade to SILVER soon, but it still look good for the time being. The smell was of floral, so it's not harsh to our nose. The bleach section has also retained it's shine, moisture and most importantly manageable with tangle-free, thanks to the Bee wax ingredient.

Throughout the waiting period, Max my hairstylist has shared some advise on hair care post trip which I found very helpful! According to him, the sea waters and direct sun exposure will cause more dryness so it's very important to:
1. Rinse off the sea water with tap water as soon as possible
2. Apply conditioner generously before and after shampooing
3. Wear a hat to protect from direct sun

Here is my personal rating for my colorful experience!

Many thanks to Max and Hairworx Studio (Cheras branch) for having me here to experience the Japan 110 years history of hair professional first color review in Malaysia!
